Bowden will battle with incoming freshman Robert Stock for No. 1 catching duties this season...as a 2007 senior, Bowden gives the Trojans a catcher with Division I experience after transferring to USC last season. 2006
In 48 starts out of 52 games as the Trojans[apos] starting catcher, Bowden batted .274 (34-for-124) with two home runs and 17 RBI as a 2006 junior...threw out 17 of 46 baserunners (37.0%) during the season...had a season-high five RBI on March 11 against No. 16 Stanford with a 3-for-4 day and two doubles...went 3-for-3 with a triple on March 19 against No. 13 Oregon State...hit the go-ahead, two-run double on April 8 in a 3-2 win against California...hit his first collegiate home run on April 22 against Washington...during his summer play with the Bellingham Bells of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League, Bowden batted .208 (20-for-96) with a home run and 12 RBI...made 26 starts in 30 appearances.
