USC Swimming & Diving Sweeps UNLV, UC San Diego

LOS ANGELES – USC swimming and diving dominated the day, sweeping both UNLV and UC San Diego to kick off the second half of the season.
The No. 11 Women of Troy picked up 11 event wins while No. 18 Troy earned nine.

Both 200 medley relay squads opened the meet with victories. On the women's side Dora Molnar, Bella Brito, Sage Miller and Nicole Maier combined to finish with a time of 1:39.15 to take the event. Vaggelis Makrygiannis, Michal Chmielewski, Junhao Chan and Oliver Sogaard-Anderson came in at 1:25.69 to take it on the men's side.
Minna Abraham captured the 1000 free with a massive swim, touching the wall at 9:39.36. The time marks the sixth fastest time in program history.
The Trojans swept the 200 free, with Bella Brito finishing with a time of 1:47.79 for the women and Krzysztof Chmielewski at 1:35.23 for the men.
Krzysztof was a double winner, securing the victory in the 100 fly with a time of 46.86.
Makrygiannis met the qualifying standard in two events. In the 100 back, Makrygiannis won the event, coming in at 46.25. The graduate student finished the 200 back with a time of 1:41.42 for his second individual win of the day.
Trojan Sanberk Oktar claimed two event wins in the 100 breast (53.71) 200 IM (1:47.68). Chan and Stuart Timmerman followed Oktar to complete the 1-2-3 USC finish in the 100 breast.
Coming off a win in the 200 medley relay, Michal clocked a time of 1:41.71 to take the 200 fly.
Nicole Maier captured the 50 free (22.50). The Women of Troy then completed a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 free. Claire Tuggle finished first (49.43) followed by Caelle Armijo (49.72) and Brito (49.83).
Lindsay Barnes won the 200 back before the Trojans went 1-2-3 in the 200 breaststroke thanks to Daniela Karnaugh (2.12.28), Ella Flowers (2.12.44) and Katherine Adams (2:14.92).
The 500 free saw yet another top three sweep as Alisee Pisane (4:49.02), Molnar (4:49.23) and Dormans (4:49.95) claimed the three fastest finishes.
Raphael Sibuet claimed a close contest in the 500 free on the men's side with a time of 4:27.94.
Justina Kozan (53.01), Abraham (53.09) and Sage Miller (53.29) captured the top three spots in the 100 fly.
Kozan was a double winner by claiming her second victory of the day in the 200 IM thanks to a 1:56.01 finish.
The 200 free relay squad of Abraham, Tuggle, Maier and Kozan combined to finish with a time of 1:29.98 to wrap up a successful day at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
Bruin Diving Invitational Day 1
Alena Lotterer advanced to the women's 1-meter final and finished 14th. The Trojans had three representatives in the men's 3-meter final. Luc Goertzen took fourth while Valentino Nieto and Robert Gref finished fifth and sixth respectively.

The diving squad will continue competition at the Bruin Diving Invitational tomorrow and will conclude on Sunday.
The Trojans will host Cal on Friday Jan. 16 and Stanford on Jan. 17 when the team will celebrate its annual senior day.
