2023-24 SEASON:
- At the Pac-12 Championships, Makrygiannis finished 7th in the 100y backstroke (46.67 / 46.42) and 16th in the 200y backstroke (1:42.10 / 1:43.20). He also helped USC to a 4th place finish in the 200y medley relay (1:25.84), 5th place in the 800y freestyle relay (6:20.70), 4th place in the 200y free relay (2:54.33), as well as the 200y freestyle relay (1:18.00)
- As an individual in the NCAA Championships, Makrygiannis finished 24th in the 200y backstroke (1:41.02) and 30th in the 100y backstroke (45.95)
- Represented Greece at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, finishing 9th in the 100m backstroke (52.97) semifinals. His time set the USC school record in the 100m back.
2022-23 SEASON:
- At Pac-12’s, Makrygiannis placed 29th in the 500y free (4:31.79), 17th in the 100y back (47.54) and 18th in the 200y back (1:44.21). He also helped USC to a fourth-place finish in the 200y medley relay (back leg) and a fifth-place finish in the 800y free relay.
2021-22 SEASON:
- At the NCAA Championships, Makrygiannis finished 37th in the 200-yard Back (1:42.68) and 42nd in the 100y Back (46.74). Also helped propel Trojan relays to a 15th in the 400y Free Relay (3:04.56), 19th in the 200-yard Medley Relay (1:23.77) and 19th in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay (6:20.03)
- At Pac-12’s, finished 6th in the 200-yard Back (1:41.86/1:40.92), 12th in the 100y Back (46.38/46.59) and 36th in the 200y IM (1:48.92). Also swam on both the 200-yard Medley (4th, 1:23.76) and the 400y Medley that took home 4th (3:05.69)
- Represented Greece at both the FINA World Championships and LEN European Aquatic Championships
- All-American honorable mention (15th in the 400y free relay at NCAA’s)
2020-21 SEASON:
- Did not compete for USC during the 2020-21 season.
- Made his Olympic debut for Greece in Tokyo, swimming the backstroke leg (54.07) of the men’s 4x100m Medley Relay. The relay finished 14th.
