USC Men's Basketball Celebrates Academic Successes

The Trojans set new program records for GPA.
LOS ANGELES – USC Men's Basketball had a stellar year in the classroom as the Trojans had their best GPA in program history along with other academic accolades.
When it came to the team's cumulative GPA, the Trojans put up a 3.264 GPA, the best in program history. Not only that, but the team finished the spring semester with a 3.296 GPA, the highest semester GPA in program history. The team also had a perfect 1,000 APR score for the third year in a row.
Individually, 14 players finished with a GPA above 3.0, which ties the most players to do that. The team also had three athletes land on the Dean's List, including Avand Dorian, Harrison Hornery and Jalen Shelley. Based on cumulative GPAs, three players also earned Big Ten Winter All-Academic Team honors, and they were Dorian, Hornery and JD Plough. The team also had eight players recognized at the student-athlete graduation in May, and they were Hornery, Plough, Josh Cohen, Chibuzo Agbo, Bryce Pope, Clark Slajchert, Matt Knowling and Rashaun Agee. Hornery and Slajchert were also recognized as David X. Marks Scholars.
