Jordan Marsh comes to USC from UNC Asheville.
LOS ANGELES – USC Men's Basketball has added the Big South's Newcomer of the Year Jordan Marsh to the roster for the upcoming season, Head Coach Eric Musselman announced today.
"We are excited to welcome Jordan to our Trojan Family," Musselman said. "Jordan provides us with an experienced guard who has played for winning programs in each of his two years in college. Jordan excels on the open floor and is a defensive disruptor with his ability to create steals. He is a tremendous athlete who will be an exciting player at USC with his elite quickness."
Marsh comes to USC from the East Coast, where he spent last season at UNC Asheville. The Big South Newcomer of the Year averaged 18.8 points per game while shooting at 44.8 percent from the field across 32 contests. Not only was he a shooting threat, but he averaged 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. When it came to Big South games, the All-Big South First Team honoree made his mark as he averaged 23.1 points per game, which included a career-high 33 points against High Point. Not only did he receive conference accolades, but Marsh was also a finalist for the Lou Henson Award, which is given to the best mid-major player in the country, and he received NABC All-South Atlantic District First Team honors. The two-time Big South Player of the Week also led his team in assists with 117 and steals with 65.
The 5-foot-10 guard started his collegiate career less than two hours away from Asheville as Marsh played his freshman year at Appalachian State. He was a key player off the bench for App State, playing in 32 of the team's 34 games that season. During that time, he was the only freshman to put up six double-digit games off the bench, including a season-best 23 points against Louisiana. By the end of the season, he secured 199 points and was just one of seven players on the team to record at least 20 points in a game that season.
Prior to Appalachian State, Marsh played his senior year of high school basketball at Moravian Prep, where he led his team to a 33-4 record. He was also named the MVP of the Big Shots Prep Nationals High School SLAM after averaging 27.7 points per game as he led his team to the championship. Before arriving at Moravian Prep, Marsh played at Oak Hill Academy.
Marsh is the eighth athlete to sign with the Trojans for the upcoming season.
