Jacob Cofie will join the Trojans after spending a season at the University of Virginia.
LOS ANGELES – USC Men's Basketball will add Jacob Cofie to the roster for the 2025-26 season, Head Coach Eric Musselman has announced today.
"We are really excited to welcome Jacob to the USC family," Coach Musselman said. "Jacob is an extremely versatile player and has elite athleticism. His unique skill set will allow us to play in a variety of different ways. Our coaching staff cannot wait to get started with Jacob."
Cofie returns to the West Coast after playing his freshman season at the University of Virginia. He played in all 32 of the Cavaliers' 32 games, starting in 16 of them. The Seattle native averaged 7.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting at 49.5 percent from the field. He had his best game of the season against Notre Dame, when he registered a career-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds. He also had a double-double during non-conference play against Bethune-Cookman, where he tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Coming out of high school, Cofie was named as Washington's Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 21.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.1 blocks per game. He led his high school team, Eastside Catholic, to the Class 3A state championship as he grabbed 17 points and 13 rebounds in that game. The All-Metro League First Team selection ranked 61st in the ESPN recruiting rankings.
Cofie is the first player to be added to USC's roster from the transfer portal this season.
