USC Moves Up a Spot After Day Two of Southern Highlands Collegiate

Sophomore Jack Jerge fires a -2, 70, as he moved into 6th at the end of round two
LAS VEGAS – USC men's golf moved up one spot from day one, finishing out the round in ninth place out of 15 teams at six-over par (294) and 25-over par overall (307) on Monday, Mar. 3, at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
The Trojans moved into ninth place at the end of day two, as they counted a 70-71-75-78 (294) for the seventh-best team score on day two. No. 2 Auburn remains out in front as the only team under par at two-under par.
Sophomore Jack Jerge, continued to find his momentum this week as he vaulted to 6th place after the second round. Jerge posted a two-under-par, 70, as he found most of his success on the front side. The sophomore notched three birdies on holes No. 1-3 and birdied No. 9 to finish out the front, 33 (-3). On his first nine of the day, he was one-over par, and now sits at one-over par for the tournament.
Junior Antonio Safa also climbed the leaderboard on day two with a one-under-par, 71, and a two-day total of five-over par and a tie for 27th individually. Safa played a bogey free front nine and began the day with three birdies and two bogeys on the back half.
Freshman Jack Buchanan followed the trend of success on the front nine as he was one-under and started the day on the back nine with a four-over par side and three-over-par total. Buchanan's lone birdie on the day came on his final hole, hole No. 9, as the Trojans combined to be two-under par on that par five. Buchanan is eight over par in total and tied for 40th.
The last counting scores came from freshman Jaden Dumdumaya and senior Gavin Aurilia who both posted six-over par, 78. Dumdumaya is 11-over par for the tournament and tied for 61st. Aurilia is 15-over par and tied for 76th.
USC competes in the final round starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Southern Highlands Golf Club.
