USC Men's Basketball Comes Home To Face Washington State

The Trojans will face their former Pac-12 foe for the first time since Feb. 29, 2024.
LOS ANGELES – USC Men's Basketball (9-1, 1-1 Big Ten) will clash against the Washington State Cougars at home on Sunday, Dec. 14. The Trojans look to get their 10th win of the season against a former Pac-12 opponent. USC is 82-51 overall against Washington State.

USC Men's Basketball collected a 94-81 win down south against the San Diego Toreros. While the score was tied up at the half, Ezra Ausar took complete control of the game in the second, emerging with a career-high 29 points, as well as game-highs of seven rebounds and two steals.
It was the hot hand from beyond the arc that tipped the scales for USC. Chad Baker-Mazara had 31 points on five three-pointers made, and Jaden Brownell supplied a burst from the bench with a season-high 16 points on four triples.

With his 31 points against San Diego on Dec. 9, Baker-Mazara became the first Trojan to score more than 20 points in four consecutive games since Byron Wesley did so from Dec. 22, 2013, to Jan. 9, 2014.
Through 10 games, Baker-Mazara is one of three players with at least six 20-point games and two 30-point games (the others are Corey Hadnot of Purdue-Fort Wayne and Michael James of Mississippi Valley State).
BROWNELL'S BASKETS
Jaden Brownell has been coming off the bench for USC this season, lighting a spark on offense for the Trojans. Over the last four games, Brownell is averaging 12.8 points per game while shooting 48% (12-for-25) from beyond the arc. He tied his season-high with 16 points against San Diego and set a season high with four made threes.

- On Dec. 7, Washington State fell 78-64 to Nevada. While leading at the half, the Cougars gave up 7-10 shots from beyond the arc and 20 second-chance points. In the loss, guard Tomas Thrastarson recorded a team-high 20 points.
- Washington State returns five players from the 2024-25 squad, welcoming five transfers and four freshmen.
- Head Coach David Riley is in his second season leading the program. Before Sunday's game, his record is 22-22 (.500) with the Cougars.
