USC Women’s Basketball Slotted No. 18 in Preseason AP Poll
October 14, 2025 | Women's Basketball
LOS ANGELES - USC women's basketball has been picked No. 18 in the Associated Press Preseason Women's Basketball Poll announced on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb, now entering her fifth year at the helm, has transformed USC into a national powerhouse, leading the Trojans to a 31-4 overall record last year, the program's most wins in a season since 1986. Coming off a dominant 2024–25 campaign that included a Big Ten regular season title and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance, the 2025–26 USC women's basketball team enters the new season with momentum and a stacked roster.
This season, the Trojans return seven key players from last year's squad that helped cement USC as one of the nation's elite programs, earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. USC's talent pool deepens even further with the addition of four high-impact transfers, including former UCLA standout Londynn Jones and Georgia Tech transfer Kara Dunn. Jazzy Davidson, the lone true freshman, brings top-tier potential to an already competitive roster as the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2025.
USC will be battle-tested by March, with the Trojans scheduled to play 10 games against opponents in the AP Preseason Top 25. Six of those games will be against preseason top 10 teams, with Gottlieb's squad set to play the preseason top three ranked teams at least four times this season (No. 1 UConn, No. 2 South Carolina and two games against No. 3 UCLA).
