USC Baseball Picks Up 7-3 Win at Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The USC baseball team rode a five-run third inning to a 7-3 victory on the road at Long Beach State on Tuesday night.
The Trojans have now won four of their last six contests as USC moves to 7-13 overall. LBSU falls to 10-8-1 on the year.
USC used five hits and one Dirtbag error to score its five runs in the third, breaking a 1-1 tie to go ahead for good early on in the contest. Jacob Galloway had an RBI double in the inning and Abbrie Covarrubias and Ethan Hedges each had RBI singles. Brayden Dowd had a sacrifice fly and Galloway later scored on an error.
The teams traded runs in the fourth and Long Beach State scratched a run across in the fifth to make it a 7-3 game. Making his collegiate debut on the mound, Andrew Harbour stopped the scoring with a pair of shutout innings for USC. Michael Ebner tossed the next 1.2 innings before Xavier Martinez got the final out of the game.
