USC’s Rayah Marshall Earns Spot On Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List

Junior center ranks No. 3 all-time in career blocks at USC.

USC junior center Rayah Marshall is in line for top national honors with her selection to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List. USC women's basketball's No. 3 all-time blocks leader in under three seasons of work, Marshall has surpassed career efforts by such Trojan greats as Paula McGee and Ebony Hoffman as she's collected 202 blocks as a Trojan to date. Marshall was a semifinalist for the award last season as a sophomore.

This season for No. 10 USC, Marshall leads the Trojans on the boards with 9.2 rebounds per game and in blocks with 1.94 per game, ranking her in the top 50 in the nation in both categories. On the defensive glass, Marshall averages 6.8 defensive rebounds per game. She's notched five double-doubles this season to run her career count up to 25 as a Trojan.

Also a Preseason All-Pac-12 Team pick this season, Marshall earned spots on the Naismith Watch List and the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Preseason Watch List.
