KANSAS CITY, Mo. – USC Men's Basketball legend John Rudometkin has been selected for the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2024, the organization announced today.
Ninth all-time in scoring and fifth all-time in rebounds, Rudometkin made his mark at USC that resulted in his jersey being retired back in 2010. During his three-year career with the Trojans, Rudometkin secured 1,484 points and 831 rebounds. He was the first player in USC history to reach 1,000 career points in two seasons as he led the Trojans in scoring all three years. He earned All-America honors in 1961 and 1962 and was named the team MVP all three seasons he played for USC. During his 79-game career at USC, Rudometkin posted 20-point, 20-rebound games twice, registering 21 points and 21 rebounds against Denver on Sept. 28, 1961, and 23 points and 21 rebounds at Wyoming on Dec. 22, 1961. He also led the Trojans to a conference championship in 1961. Following his career at USC, Rudometkin was the 11th pick in the 1962 NBA Draft, playing three seasons between the New York Knicks and San Francisco Warriors.
