
USC Men’s Basketball to Host UTSA For Trojan Tipoff Exhibition Event

The Trojans will host the University of Texas at San Antonio for an exhibition game on Tues., Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Galen Center.
LOS ANGELES – USC men's basketball is set to open the 2024-25 season on Tues., Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. PT as the Trojans have scheduled a home exhibition against UTSA. The game will air live on B1G+.
The exhibition will mark first-year head coach Eric Musselman's first contest at the Galen Center.
The Trojans last faced the Roadrunners in 1984 as USC downed UTSA 84-68 in the only meeting between the two schools.
UTSA finished last season with a 4-16 record in the team's first season in the American Athletic Conference and an overall record of 11-21 after previously spending 10 years as a member school of Conference USA.
UTSA men's basketball is tipping off a new era with the inaugural season under head coach Austin Claunch.Announced as the program's seventh head coach in March, Claunch arrived in San Antonio after finishing Alabama's historic run to the Final Four as member of the Crimson Tide staff. He brings a successful track record that led him to back-to-back Southland Conference Championships, an SLC Coach of the Year honor and 90 wins in five years at Nicholls State. It's also a new look for the Roadrunners' roster, as Claunch and his staff assembled a squad comprised of 14 new scholarship players.
USC finished off the 2023-24 season with a 15-18 record and went 8-12 during its final season in the Pac-12. The new look USC 2024-25 squad consists of 16 new faces and two returning members of last year's team - including 11 recruited from the transfer portal. The Trojans are the most experienced Power 5 team in college basketball based on minutes played per game last season (327.6). The Trojan transfer class combined to average almost 150 points per game last season - the most incoming points of any transfer class in the nation.
