USC Men's Basketball Announces 2023-24 Nonconference Schedule

Pac-12 pairings set, official dates and times to be determined
The USC men's basketball nonconference schedule and Pac-12 pairings for the 2023-24 season have been announced and once again will feature an ambitious slate of games. The Trojans are set to play a potential 10 games against against teams which played in the 2022-23 NCAA Tournament, nearly a third of the schedule. Fans can purchase or renew season tickets now by going to USCTrojans.com/tickets.
The Trojans went 22-11 during the 2022-23 season, including a 14-6 record in Pac-12 play which tied for second in the conference. USC also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season. It was the Trojans' fourth consecutive 20-win season, a school record for back-to-back 20-win seasons. The Trojans return leading scorer and All-Pac-12 guard Boogie Ellis and have added the No. 4 ranked recruiting class in the country, which includes the consensus No. 1 overall player, guard Isaiah Collier. USC has won a combined 95 games the past four seasons, tied for the sixth-most among Power 6 conference teams.
The Trojans' nonconference slate features a potential nine of 11 contests against teams that finished over .500, including five scheduled games with teams which won more than 20 games. Also, three of its opponents, Gonzaga, UC Irvine and Eastern Washington, won or tied for their regular season conference title.
The Trojans will open the season by squaring off with 2023 NCAA Tournament team Kansas State (26-10 last season) in the Naismith Hall of Fame Series to be held at T-Moble Arena in Las Vegas, Calif. on Nov. 6.
USC will then return home for three games, the longest homestand in the nonconference schedule. First, USC will play its home opener vs. CSU Bakersfield (11-22 last season) at the Galen Center on Nov. 9. Big West co-champion UC Irvine (23-12 last season) will be the Trojans' next opponent at home on Nov. 14. USC will close out the homestand by hosting Ivy League team Brown (14-13) on Nov. 19.
The Trojans will next face Big East power Seton Hall (17-16 last season) in a first-round game of the inaugural Rady Children's Invitational to be held at the LionTree Arena on the campus of UC San Diego on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23. The next day the Trojans will face either the Big Ten's Iowa Hawkeyes (19-14 last season) or the Big 12's Oklahoma Sooners (15-17 last season).
The next game for the Trojans will be at home on Nov. 29 at the Galen Center against Big Sky defending champion Eastern Washington (23-11 last season).Â
USC next will face defending West Coast co-champion and perennial power Gonzaga (31-6 last season) in a west coast showdown of preseason top 25 teams at the Legends of Basketball Las Vegas Invitational at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 2.
USC will return home to play its final nonconference home game on Dec. 10 against the Big West's Long Beach State team (17-16 last season).
The Trojans will conclude the nonconference slate with a road trip to the state of Alabama, facing a pair of teams it defeated last season at home. First, USC will play at Southeastern Conference power Auburn (21-13 last season) at Neville Arena in Auburn, Ala. on Dec. 17. Then, USC will play at Alabama State (8-23 last season) of the Southwest Athletic Conference at Dunn-Oliver Acadome on Dec. 19.
Pac-12 Conference play will not begin until the first week after Christmas. USC will begin the week of Dec. 27-31 playing games at Oregon (21-15 last season) and Oregon State (11-21 last season). The Oregon schools will come to the Galen Center for games the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 4.
The week of Jan. 3-7 the Trojans will play their first Pac-12 homestand when they host California (3-29 last season) and Stanford (14-19 last season). The Trojans will travel to the Bay Area to face California and Stanford the week of Feb. 7-11.
The next week of games will be from Jan. 10-14 and USC will play at Colorado (18-17 last season) and host Washington State (17-17 last season).
USC will travel to Arizona (28-7) and Arizona State (23-13) the week of Jan. 17-21 and host the same schools the week of March 6-9.
The Trojans will host crosstown rival UCLA (31-6 last season) the week of Jan. 24-28 and then travel to Westwood to face the Bruins the week of Feb. 21-25.
The week of Feb. 14-18, USC will host the mountain schools Colorado and Utah (17-15 last season). It is the only meeting scheduled during the regular season between USC and Utah.
The final Pac-12 road trip of the season will be Feb. 28-March 3 when the Trojans will play at Washington (16-16 last season) and Washington State. It is the only scheduled meeting between the Trojans and Huskies.Â
The Pac-12 Tournament will once again be held in Las Vegas, Nev. at the T-Mobile Arena from March 13-16.
