USC Baseball Uses Four Homers to Power Past LMU, 8-6

LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team used four home runs, including two from Johnny Olmstead, to power its way past Loyola Marymount on the road, 8-6, on Tuesday night.
The Trojans move to 32-20-1 with the non-conference victory, while LMU falls to 26-22.
After LMU took a 2-0 lead in the first, Olmstead hit a three-run shot in the second and Cole Gabrielson hit a two-run homer in the third to give USC a 5-2 lead. Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek extended the lead with a two-run shot of his own in the fifth.
The Lions made a run of their own, scoring two in the fifth and two in the sixth to cut it to a one-run game, 7-6. Olmstead's second homer of the day was a solo-shot in the eighth to push it to 8-6.
Kyle Wisch tossed a scoreless eighth to preserve the lead and Garrett Clarke closed it out with a scoreless ninth for his eighth save of the season.

The Trojans head to Arizona for a three-game series starting on Thursday. All three games will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. USC then stays in Arizona for the Pac-12 Tournament starting on Tuesday, May 23.
