USC Baseball Shuts Down Arizona State, 4-1

LOS ANGELES – Blake Sodersten and Kyle Wisch combined to hold a potent Arizona State offense to just one run on three hits, and Jacob Galloway drove in a pair of runs as the USC baseball team took down the Sun Devils 4-1 at home on Friday night.
The Trojans move to 29-20-1 overall and 14-10 in Pac-12 play, while ASU falls to 29-19, 14-10. USC is now 24-6 at home.
The Sun Devils struck first, putting a run on the board in the top of the fourth, but that would be it for the ASU offense on the night as the visitors were held hitless the rest of the way. Sodersten picked up the win with 7.0 innings on the mound and Kyle Wisch got the save after tossing 2.0 scoreless to end it.
USC took the lead in the bottom of the fourth, getting an RBI groundout from Luca DiPaolo and then a sacrifice fly from Galloway. Galloway extended the USC lead in the sixth win an RBI double and Ryan Jackson rounded out the scoring with an RBI single.
Galloway was 2-for-2 at the plate, with two RBI. He also caught a pair of runners stealing from behind the plate.
