LAST WEEK: The Trojans hosted four games last week, starting things off with an 8-5 win over CSUN before taking two-of-three games from No. 22 UCLA in a thrilling rivalry series. After dropping the opener, the Trojans evened things up with a 5-1 win on Saturday, setting up the rubber match. In the finale, USC jumped out to an early lead, but the Bruins tied it up and the teams headed to the ninth tied 5-5. After Garrett Clarke got a strikeout to strand runners at the corners for UCLA in the top half of the inning, the Trojans would load the bases and get a walk-off single from Cole Gabrielson to win it. It was the first series win at home over the Bruins for USC since 2005.
Â
TUESDAY VS UCSD: USC picked up a 4-3 victory over UC San Diego on Tuesday at home, getting a two-run single from Johnny Olmstead, and an RBI each from Carson Wells and Nick Lopez. Five different USC pitchers combined to hold the Tritons to three runs on five hits, with Fisher Johnson picking up the win and Garrett Clarke the save.
Â
SERIES VS. WASH: The all-time series between the teams is tied 43-43. Washington swept last year's series in Los Angeles, and the Trojans swept the year before in Seattle.
