CROSSExamination
USC will have its work cut out for them this week when Colorado comes to town, as it comes in fresh off a two-game sweep against Pac-12 foes Stanford and California. The Buffalo are in a position that little to no one expected, as they upset the Cardinal in a 17-15 barn burner. They then kept their momentum up as they stomped the Bears 20-3. As a result, Colorado broke the Trojans' four-week stretch of claiming the Defensive Player of the Week Honor. On the other side, Oregon has struggled, as it is 0-2 to start the conference season with losses to California (L, 12-13) and Stanford (L, 8-18).Â
Â
On the USC side, the Trojans continue to provide support through their stout defense. Currently, USC ranks T-3rd in the NCAA with 11.8 caused turnovers per game and is fourth in the nation with 20.12 groundballs per game. Heading, the group is senior Olivia Dooley, who has paced the way with 19 caused turnovers. Sophomore Alexis Niblock has continued providing groundball support as she leads the squad with 17. On the offensive side, USC is led by a plethora of talent, as six squad members have double-digit goals on the season.Â
