Tara McKeown Scores Twice in 2-2 Draw for USC Women's Soccer at UCLA
March 18, 2021 | Women's Soccer
LOS ANGELES – The No. 12 USC women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against No. 3 UCLA on Thursday night in Westwood, getting two goals from Tara McKeown in the crosstown battle.
The non-conference result moves USC to 3-3-1 on the year, while the Bruins' winning streak comes to an end as they move to 8-0-1.
The Trojans fell behind early after giving up a PK in the 18th minute, but McKeown would equalize before the half for USC on a through ball from Croix Bethune. The Trojan's senior leader then knocked in a laser in the 68th minute to put USC on top 2-1, giving McKeown her second brace of the year.
UCLA found their own equalizer in the 86th minute, however, when Reilyn Turner scored to make it a 2-2 game.
USC threatened several times in OT, including McKeown hitting a free kick off the crossbar in the 100th minute, but the Trojans couldn't find a winner on the road.
USC outshot UCLA 21-14 in the game, and 5-3 in overtime, while also winning six corners to the Bruins' five.
