Trojans Open 2021 Season with Intrasquad Meet

The USC men's swim team kicked off their 2020-21 season with an intra-squad meet at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center on Friday (Jan. 22.)
USC was originally scheduled to compete against Arizona today (Jan. 22) and tomorrow, but a COVID-19 protocol issue within the Arizona program led to the meet's cancelation.
Captains for the teams were senior Nikola Miljenic and junior Ariel Spektor.
The Cardinal A relay (Jack Kirby, Justin Lum, Alexei Sancov, Billy Cruz Zuniga) opened up the meet with a win in the 400 medley (3:17.92.)
Transfers Justin Lum and Harry Homans impressed during their USC debuts as both picked up individual wins. Lum won the 100y breastroke in 56.32 while Homans took the 200y fly (1:47.61) and 200y IM (1:51.75.)
Gold team captain Miljenic won the 100y free in 44.91 with fellow gold team member Max Saunders shortly behind in second (45.20)
Heading into tomorrow, team Cardinal sits in the lead with 70 points, just 8 points ahead of team Gold.
Action begins tomorrow around 12 PM PST with the 200 Medley relay.
