Issei Tanabe final round 69 best of the day
Senior Justin Suh posted his third top 10 conference finish in his career and his sixth top 4 this year, his fourth-place finish today leading the No. 6 USC men's golf team on the final day of the 2019 Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships at the Eugene (Ore.) C.C. on Wednesday (April 25).
On a blustery day that challenged the entire field, the defending conference champion Trojans finished seventh at 32-over 1452 (359-354-360-379). California won the team title at 7-under 1413, the only team under par at the event.
Suh's title defense fell short, too, the senior taking fourth at 4-under 280 (69-65-71-75), going 2-over on both nines. His finish was his fifth top 7 in his last six outings and marked his 10th top 15 in as many starts this year.
Sophomores Issei Tanabe (76-72-73-69) and Kaito Onishi (69-72-71-68) tied for 23rd at 6-over 290. Tanabe's final round was low for the day as he closed with four birdies over his final six holes, including his final three. Onishi had two birdies today.
Senior Sam Kim tied for 37th at 10-over 294 (73-73-72-76), junior Kyle Suppa tied for 54th at 17-over 301 (75-72-73-81) and Charlie Reiter tied for 66th at 26-over 310 (73-77-79-81).
The Trojans are off until mid May. The NCAA Championships Regional brackets will be announced May 1.
