THIS YEAR: Kyle Suppa, a 2021 graduate senior, has three years of starting experience and has been a reliable contributor for the Trojans his entire career, helping them reach two NCAA Championships and a 2018 Pac-12 title.
2020: Suppa, as a 2020 true senior, saw action in six tournaments (starting three times) and posted a stroke average of 73.94 … He finished a season-best tied for 22nd in his final event of the season, carding a 5-over 221 (75-73-73) at the Prestige Individual Invitational. Suppa fired two rounds in the 60s, both in fall play … Suppa was USC’s lone player to be named to the 2020 Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2019: Suppa, as 2019 junior starter, had five top 19 finishes on the season and finished fifth on the team with a 73.46 stroke average with seven rounds under 70. He tied for fourth at 5-under 208 (73-68-67) at the Saint Mary's Invitational – a career-best effort – and tied for seventh at 5-under 211 (70-67-74) at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational. He then tied for 12th at the Amer Ari Invitational at 7-under 209 (71-65-73) and also tied for sixth at the Sonoran Showdown at 3-under 207 (67-67-73). He played the first two rounds at the NCAA Austin Regional and the third round at the NCAA Championships as a sub ... Suppa earned 2019 Pac-12 All-Academic second team honors.
2018: Suppa, as a 2018 sophomore, was one of three Trojans to play in every tournament last season, starting all but one. He finished fourth on the team with a stroke average of 72.73 with eight rounds in the 60s with one top 10 finish and three in the top 20 … He turned in a season best at Saint Mary's with a tie for sixth at 6-under 207 (75-68-64), his final round 7-under tying his collegiate best. He tied for 16th at the Western Intercollegiate at 1-under 209 (69-69-71), tied for 20th at the Trinity Forest Invitational at 1-over 214 (72-70-72) and also tied for 33rd at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invite. He tied for 58th in USC’s Pac-12 win at 8-over 292 (72-72-75-73), but his opening two rounds were both counters … His 2018 summer was highlighted by a quarterfinal appearance at the 2018 North and South Championship, where he fell 1up after advancing out of the round of 16 with a win in 21 holes. He qualified for match play by tying for 25th at 145 (70-75) … He tied for 24th at 296 (73-75-74-74) at the Sahalee Players Championship and was 28th at the Sunnehanna Amateur at 285 (71-72-72-70) ... He earned 2018 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention honors.
2017: Suppa played in three events as an individual as a 2017 true freshman, finishing with a solid 72.44 stroke average. He posted a season-best tie for 19th at the Amer Ari Invitational with a 7-under 209 (64-69-76). His first-round 64 on the Waikola G.C. Kings Course was USC's best round since Sam Smith's 64 at the 2013 NCAA Pullman Regional. He tied for 32nd at the Bill Cullum Invitational and tied for 48th at the Southwestern Invitational ... During the summer, he tied for 18th at the Southwestern Amateur and Monroe Invitational, tied for 22nd at the Sahalee Players Championship and tied for 35th at the Pacific Coast Amateur.
HIGH SCHOOL: Suppa prepped at Punahou School in Honolulu and finished his high school career as the top junior in Hawaii, where he was ranked in the top 75 of the Junior Golf Scoreboard's Worldwide Ranking and No. 33 on Junior Golf Scoreboard's graduating class list. Suppa placed second in the 2015 Hawaii State Amateur, played in the 2015 U.S. Amateur and has also played in the U.S. Junior Amateur. He competed as an amateur in the PGA Tour's 2015 Sony Open and made the cut with opening rounds of 69-69. Suppa won the 2014 HSJGA Michelle Wie Tournament of Champions, finished third as an amateur in the professional 2014 Hawaii State Open, took second in the 2015 AJGA Yang Foundation Junior and tied for seventh at the 2015 IMG Junior World Championships.
