USC welcomes the Naismith Trophy candidate to Troy.
The star-studded USC women's basketball roster will shine even brighter next year with the addition of forward Jordyn Jenkins, who was signed a national letter of intent to join the Women of Troy, USC head coach Mark Trakh announced today (Nov. 13). Recently named to the Jersey Mike's Naismith High School Trophy Watch List, the decorated Jenkins has had an outstanding high school career in Kent, Wash.
"We are very excited to add Jordyn Jenkins to the Trojan Family," Trakh said. "Jordyn is a great, versatile player who can play multiple positions. She is also an intense rebounder and defender. More importantly, she is a great person from a wonderful family. Jordyn is a perfect fit for our program and I'm really looking forward to coaching her."
A 5-star recruit ranked No. 40 in the 2020 class by ESPN, the 6-foot-2 Jenkins was a 2019 4A all-state first team selection and averaged 21.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game as a junior at Kentridge High. Also a 2019 USA Today first team pick for Washington, she's scored 1,466 points in her prep career so far and is shooting .610 from the floor. On Nov. 12, Jenkins was listed as one of 50 high school players to watch by the Atlanta Tipoff Club with her place on the Naismith High School Trophy Watch List.
Jenkins will join a youthful roster next season, slated to start her Trojan career in 2020-21 as a freshman among seven sophomores and two juniors.
