Huskies Hand Trojans 2-0 Loss at Home

LOS ANGELES – The No. 7 USC women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Washington in a battle of teams who were tied for second in the Pac-12 standings coming into play.
USC falls to 12-3-1 on the year and 5-3-0 in Pac-12 play, while Washington improves to 10-4-2 overall and 6-2-0 in conference action.
The Trojans gave up a goal on a defensive breakdown in the first half, and then saw Washington add another on a long free kick in the second half. USC outshot the Huskies 19-17 on the day and put nine balls on target, but they were all saved.
GOALS
38' – WASH: Helena Reischling (assisted by Summer Yates) – Yates sent a long ball forward that caught the Trojan backline off guard and Reischling ran onto it and dribbled around a charging Kaylie Collins for the open net goal.
66' – WASH: Summer Yates (unassisted) – Yates scored on a free kick from nearly 40 yards out, sending a ball into the upper left corner.
UP NEXT
The Trojans hit the road for games at Oregon (Thursday) and Oregon State (Sunday) this coming week. USC finishes the regular season at UCLA the following Friday.
