Women’s Volleyball Welcomes Transfer Chandlar Duff

The Women of Troy bring in former Oregon middle blocker Chandlar Duff for the 2019 season
LOS ANGELES – The USC women's volleyball program will add the talents of middle blocker Chandlar Duff (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe South HS) to its 2019 roster, head coach Brent Crouch announced on Thursday, Jan. 11. Duff joins the Women of Troy following her freshman fall semester at the University of Oregon.
"Chandlar is an elite athlete who we feel will thrive in our offensive and defensive systems; both of which put a premium on quickness," said Crouch. "With the loss of three middle blockers following our 2018 season, Chandlar will have a chance to compete and contribute right away. She is a fantastic individual and we are thrilled that she has joined our team."
Duff did not appear in any matches and redshirted her first collegiate season while with the Ducks. She was the 2018 No. 92-ranked Senior Ace according to PrepVolleyball's national rankings and was one of Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 selections. Duff was also an AVCA Phenom choice and was named to the JVA All-National and AAU All-America teams in 2016. She has experience in the USA Volleyball system as a member of the 2016 A1 National Training Team and the 2014 Lakeshore Regional High-Performance Team.
Duff played her club volleyball for the Legacy Volleyball Club in Detroit and helped her squad to a runner-up finish at the 2016 AAU Junior National Championship. She was a four-year letterwinner at Grosse Point South HS and was chosen to the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association all-region team and her school's All-Academic Team in each of her four years.
Duff is eligible for competition during the 2019 season and will participate in spring volleyball with the Trojans. Additionally, 2019 freshman middle blocker Madison Horin (Munster, Ind./Munster HS) completed her high school graduation requirements early and has enrolled at USC for the spring 2019 semester. She will also join the Women of Troy for spring volleyball. Horin, this year's No. 7-ranked Senior Ace, was an Under Armour High School All-American and helped the No. 1-ranked USAV Junior National Team win gold at the 2018 NORCECA qualifier and was a team captain for the USAV Youth National Team in 2017.
In his first season at USC, Crouch guided the Women of Troy to a 22-11 overall record and a second-place tie in the Pac-12 (13-7). The Trojans played one of the toughest schedules in the nation with 18 AVCA ranked opponents. USC made its 36th appearance in the NCAA tournament (28th consecutive) and advanced to the second round as the 11th seed before falling in an upset to San Diego. Outside hitter Brooke Botkin was named to the AVCA All-America second team and became the program's 42nd all-time All-American. Setter Raquel Lázaro was chosen as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and received AVCA All-America honorable mention alongside outside hitter Khalia Lanier.
