Claire Kovensky added 11 kills and 14 digs while Ivana Jeremic had 10 kills and five blocks. Carmen Unzue totaled six kills and hit .545 with six blocks. Nicole Peterson had the double-double with 31 assist and 18 digs.
- Arizona State was the aggressor to open the match and got nine kills from Ford in the first set alone. The Devils out-hit USC, .375 to .147 in the opening set and had a six-dig edge, 17-11. ASU led by just three at 11-8 but ripped the set open with a big run through the middle and ended with back-to-back kills from Unzue for the 25-14 win.
- The Sun Devils shined down the stretch of the second set. Ford added seven more kills and ASU out-dug the Trojans, 20-13, as it finished with a 5-0 run to seal a 25-19 win for a 2-0 lead in the match. USC hit just .098 in the frame.
- The third set was tied 13 times before USC went ahead for good at 15-14. USC hit .381 in the frame and earned sideout at an 89-percent rate. Despite losing, ASU had a .282 hitting rate with a 70-percent sideout ratio.
- USC wasn't nearly as sharp in the fourth as it hit .000 and had 10 errors to its 10 kills. Arizona State broke an 11-all tie and raced away for a 19-12 lead on the power of an 8-1 run. ASU scored set point at 24-15, but the Trojans wouldn't go quietly as they mounted a 3-0 run, but that was all USC would get as ASU closed out the 25-18 win for the match victory.
- USC returns to Los Angeles to close out the regular season and begins Thanksgiving week as host to Utah (16-13, 8-10 Pac-12) on Wednesday (Nov. 21) at Galen Center. The Women of Troy will honor seniors Victoria Garrick, Reni Meyer-Whalley, Madison Murtagh, and Brittany Welsh in pre-match ceremonies and the match will be streamed live on USC's Pac-12+ platform. The Trojans close the regular season at crosstown rival UCLA on Friday (Nov. 21) at 5 p.m. PT at Pauley Pavilion. That match will be shown live on Pac-12 Los Angeles.

- USC fell behind, 2-0, in a match for the seventh time this season and dropped to 1-6 in those situations. Previously, the Trojans were swept in four matches; lost, 3-1, to Central Florida (Sept. 1); and defeated Syracuse, 3-2 (Sept. 8).
- The Trojans lost to an unranked opponent for the first time since falling to Central Florida on Sept. 1 and suffered only their second loss to an unranked foe all season.
