Duo also lead Trojans to win in 200y medley relay.
Sophomore Louise Hansson won the 100y fly in a near-school record, junior Riley Scott won the 100y breast in a nation's best time while seniors Dylan Carter and Ralf Tribuntsov each swam in a pair of A finals to highlight the USC women's and men's swim teams Friday night (Dec. 1) at the Texas Invitational in Austin.
Scott and Hansson also joined lead-off senior Hannah Weiss and freshman anchor Marta Ciesla to win the 200y medley relay in an NCAA A cut of 1:36.89.
Hansson, in one of 14 A final swims by the Trojans today, won the 100y fly in 50.41, just 0.02 off her school record she set at the Pac-12 Championships as a freshman. Junior Maddie Wright (52.61) and sophomore Catherine Sanchez (52.88) finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in the A final.
Scott captured the 100y breast in 58.64, the fastest time in the country this year. The NCAA A cut lowered her PR from prelims by 0.24 and was just 0.54 off the school record by USC great Rebecca Soni. Freshman Maggie Aroesty swam to third in 1:00.02.
Carter took fifth in the men's 100y fly A final with a 45.99 while senior Ralf Tribuntsov was eighth in the heat (46.42). Senior Santo Condorelli won the B heat in a USC season-best 45.60, 0.11 off an A cut and just 0.33 off of Carter's school record. All were B cuts.
Carter (46.05) and Tribuntsov (46.37) came back in the A final of the 100y back, finishing fourth and sixth, respectively, while junior Patrick Mulcare was seventh (46.40). Freshman Robert Glinta won the B final in 46.50 with senior Jon Knox third in the race (46.95) in B times.
Sophomore Tatum Wade raced to third in the 200y free with a 1:45.57 while senior Lexie Malazdrewicz was fifth in 1:45.81, just off her PR, both B cuts. Freshman Jake Sannem led the men in the 200y free, 12th in 1:35.83 (B).
Sophomore Mario Koenigsperger posted a PR in the 100y breast prelims of 52.97 to earn an A final spot and finished seventh in the final in 53.65. Senior Hannah Weiss took third in the 100y back A final with a 52.84.
USC closed the meet as the men's 200y medley relay of Glinta, junior Billy Monjay, junior Alex Valente and freshman Justin Nguyen went 1:27.82.
The meet concludes Saturday with prelims at 8 a.m. and finals at 4 p.m. PT.
