LOS ANGLES - The No. 3 USC women's water polo team jumped ahead early and never looked back in a 19-4 win over the No. 16 Hartwick Hawks Wednesday afternoon at McDonald's Swim Stadium. USC's Joelle Bekhazi had a hat trick to lead 12 Trojan scorers in the match. USC extended its home winning streak to 23 games by winning its sixth straight match. Action got off to a great start for the Trojans as they exploded in the first quarter for five goals from five different players as the team set the tone for the match early on. Joelle Bekhazi scored two of her three goals in the final four minutes of the second frame including a rocket from the outside to put USC up 8-2 at the half.
The third quarter saw the Trojans stretch their lead as Patricia Jancso, Kristen Dronberger, Blair Moody, Madeline Rosenthal and Dominique Sardo all found the back of the net to put USC up comfortably 14-3. Hartwick's Jessica McKee scored her third goal of the match mid way through the fourth quarter but the Hawks would get no closer. USC rattled off three more goals in the final three minutes including two from Nicolina McCall to cap the win.
