Kaleigh Gilchrist has won two Olympic gold medals as a member of Team USA in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and at the 2020 Games in Tokyo. She follows in her father's footsteps, as Sandy Gilchrist was a 1964 and 1968 Olympic swimmer for Canada. Gilchrist's storybook journey has carried her through a 2013 NCAA Championship as a junior at USC, continued competition on the international pro surfing circuit, a gold medal at the 2014 FINA World Championships with USA Water Polo and to a dream ticket to the 2016 Games as a first-time Olympian. Gilchrist's performance and growth while at USC saw her emerge as one of the nation's top players. She'd lock in on her first All-American honors as a sophomore in 2012, when she broke out as the team's top scorer. She would go on to collect two more such accolades and rank No. 11 all-time career scoring at USC before graduating in 2014. Soon after, Gilchrist was called up for her first-ever duty on the U.S. National Team, helping Team USA win the 2014 FINA Super Final and FINA World Cup titles.
2014: Team captain Gilchrist finished her senior season having staked a claim as USC's No. 10 all-time career scorer... Scored 35 goals in her senior campaign to wrap up her career with 142 goals... Named to All-America Second Team... Also earned a place on the NCAA All-Tournament Second Team... An All-MPSF First Team pick, scored in 20 games with eight multiple-goal games, including a career-high five goals scored against Redlands on Feb. 14. .
2013: Gilchrist was USC's second leading scorer as a junior, tallying 45 goals in 2013... Named to All-America Third Team and All-MPSF Second Team... Selected to NCAA All-Tournament First Team after providing four goals during the 2013 tournament... Scored her 100th career goal during a career-high five-goal outing against CSU Bakersfield in the first round of the MPSF Tournament... Scored in 23 games with 12 multiple-goal outings... Named MPSF Player of the Week on April 22 after a hat trick in USC's 11-6 win over UCLA.
2012: Gilchrist was USC's top scorer as a sophomore, blasting 47 goals for the Trojans... Scored in 24 different games with 13 multiple-goal efforts, including two career-high five-goal games... First hit five vs. LMU on March 25, and also nailed five on April 20 vs. CSU Bakersfield... Earned All-America Second Team honors and selected to All-MPSF Second Team... Picked MPSF Player of the Week on April 2... Scored four goals at the NCAA Tournament... Named to NCAA All-Tournament First Team.
