EUGENE, Ore. - Led by OH Kashi Cormier's .786 attack effort, USC defeated Oregon 3-0 (15-3, 15-3, 15-0) in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday night (Oct. 16). The three-game victory extended the Ducks' losing streak to 12 matches in front of an Oregon record crowd of 1,867 at McArthur Court.
Adding two conference victories this weekend, the Women of Troy improve to 11-4 overall and 6-2 in the Pac-10. Oregon falls to 6-12 overall and 0-9 in conference play.
USC displayed another outstanding offensive performance capitalizing on a team .506 attack percentage and 34 team digs. Troy's power was driven by Cormier and OH Antoinette Polk who each hit for .786 and .417, respectively. The Trojans only allowed the Ducks to score six total points in the match, the lowest opponent total this season
The Ducks were plagued by service errors, while being held to a .143 hitting percentage and 19 team digs in the match. The team was led by sophomore Carli Halligan who added digs and 25 attacks on the night.
"I was extremely happy with our performance tonight," said USC head coach Jerritt Elliott. "We did a tremendous job passing, and we served well, especially in game three."
This week, USC begins preparing for two more matches on the road. The Trojans face Arizona on Friday, October 21 at 7p.m. On Saturday (Oct. 22), they face Arizona State at 7:30 p.m. The Arizona State match will be televised regionally on Fox Sports Net.
