Gillis played for Munciana Volleyball Club for five years (12-16) and then for the Munciana 18s Samurai for three years under head coach Mike Ligenfelter... a four-time AAU All-American (2011-14)... helped Munciana to AAU runner-up finishes in 2012 and 2014... member of USA High Performance Select A1 in 2010 and 2011... comes from the same club that produced 2006 Trojan captain Kimi (Freeburg) Olson.
