Kalen Glynis Owes was born on Nov. 3, 2000, in Tucson, Ariz.… parents are Raymond and Laura Owes… has one sister named Makenzie… father Ray Owes was a captain and an All-Pac-10 basketball forward at Arizona (1992-95) who later played professionally in Australia and for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings… mother Laura (Bartsch) was an AVCA All-Region setter at Arizona and one of just five Wildcat players to record over 4,000 career-assists… aunt Michelle Bartsch (1990-93) was an Academic All-American defender at Arizona… grandfather Richard Bartsch played baseball (1963-65) at Springfield College (Mass.)… cousin Zach Malis was a third baseman at Grand Canyon (2016-18) and was drafted in the 24th round by the Detroit Tigers… majoring in biochemistry with aspirations to enter the medical field as a pharmacist or orthopedic surgeon.
