A two-time All-American setter for the Women of Troy, Kendall Bateman is in her first season (2016) as the program's volunteer assistant coach. Bateman previously served as the team's graduate assistant during the 2012 season.

Professionally, Bateman played setter for Las Indias de Mayaguez in Puerto Rico for one season (2013) and made the league’s all-star team.

She has served as a coach for the Southern California Volleyball Club and has experience running club clinics and tryouts. Bateman was also a private trainer at Prime Athletes, a sports performance and volleyball training center in Lawndale, Calif. There, she coached and trained boys and girls, ages 8-18, from the South Bay, Los Angeles Westside, and Orange County areas.

At USC, Bateman finished her career as one of the top setters in school history, and still holds the school record for career assists (4,510). As a senior, she was named the Pac-12's Setter of the Year as she helped guide the Trojans to the second of back-to-back appearances in the NCAA national semifinals.

Bateman is also rated fifth in USC's career assists per set (11.25 aps) and is sixth on USC's single-season assists records (1,395). She received a degree in business administration from the Marshall School of Business in 2012 and completed a master’s degree in communication management from the Annenberg School for Communication in 2014.

Internationally, Bateman is a two-time member of the U.S. Girls’ National Team, and was part of the squad that finished 10th at the 2007 FIVB Girls’ World Championship in Mexico. Bateman also helped the U.S. squad win the 2006 NORCECA championship.

In high school, Bateman was a two-time Mizuno/Volleyball Magazine All-American at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif. She led her team to a perfect 37-0 record and the school’s fourth straight state title as a senior. That year, she was named the CIF’s Most Valuable Player. Bateman played for various clubs, including SCVC, and was chosen to the 2005 and 2008 Junior Olympics All-Tournament teams.

Bateman currently resides in Redondo Beach, Calif.
