As a freshman, Schmidt appeared in 13 matches (15 sets)... collected nine digs, one assist, and one service ace... put up a season-best four digs in her collegiate debut against Alabama A&M (Aug. 31)... scored her service ace against Colorado (Nov. 29).

Schmidt prepped at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, Calif., under head coach Bret Almazan-Cezar... as a senior in 2012, was chosen to Mizuno/Volleyball Girls High School All-America first team... named West Catholic Athletic League Player of the Year... Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area Central Coast Section Player of the Year... MaxPreps All-American... Under Armour All-America honorable mention... San Jose Mercury News Player of the Year and First Team... helped AMHS to the CIF Division II title and was named Archbishop Mitty Female Athlete of the Year... as a junior in 2011, named WCAL First Team All-League... San Jose Mercury News second team... chosen Archbishop Mitty's Most Inspirational Player as a sophomore and a junior, and the school's Player of the Year as a senior... earned the Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area Volunteer of the Week award (Sept. 2012)... recorded 570 career digs.
CLUB VOLLEYBALL
Schmidt played for Vision Volleyball Club in Los Gatos, Calif., for seven years under head coach Jason Mansfield... qualified for an open bid to the Junior National Championships with the 18s and helped her team finish second in the region and fourth at the Reno Tournament... helped her club to the bronze medal at the 2012 Junior Olympics.
