THIS YEAR: Â Sophomore Kenan Christon is in his second season as a sprinter on the track and field team. Â He was also a running back on USC's football team in the Fall.
2020: Â Christon ran in two indoor meets during the season, posting a best 60m time of 6.84 and 200m time of 21.25 at the Texas Tech Invitational. Â He finished third in the 100m dash with a time of 10.39 (+2.6w) and ran on USC's second-place 4x100m relay (39.81) at the Beach Opener. Â That was the only outdoor meet before the season was shutdown due to COVID-19.
HIGH SCHOOL: Â Christon is a 2019 graduate of Madison HS in San Diego, Calif. Â He was a high school T&F All-American in both the 100m and 200m and won both events at the California state meet, just the third athlete in history to pull off the double at the California state meet...his winning time of 10.30 (+1.2) in the 100m tied the state championships record and he won the 200m with a time of 20.65 (+2.5w). Â He has a wind-legal best of 20.55 (+1.9) in the 200m and a wind-aided best of 10.26 (+2.6w) in the 100m dash. Â He ranked tied for fourth in the 100m and third in the 200m among high school athletes. Â Christon was named the 2019 Gatorade Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year for California. Â In football, he made 2018 PrepStar All-Western Region, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Â Cal-Hi Sports All-State and second team and All-CIF San Diego third team as a senior running back and cornerback.
