Bio
THIS SEASON: Missy McIntyre, an NCAA point scorer as a freshman and an NCAA participant as a sophomore, looks to return as a major factor for the Women of Troy as a 2008 junior, chiefly in the breaststroke.
2007: McIntyre competed at the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row and took 37th in the 100y breast (1:04.70). She also raced on USC[apos]s 200y and 400y free relays ... She was 17th in the 100y breast (1:02.81) at the 2007 Pac-10 Championships and 32nd in both the 50y free (23.96) and the 200y breast (2:25.07) ... At the 2007 U.S. Summer Nationals, she competed in the 100m breast.
2006: As a 2006 freshman McIntyre became an NCAA Championships point scorer with a 14th in the 100y breast (1:02.39). She was also 38th in the 200y breast (2:17.84) and 58th in the 200y IM (2:04.25) ... At the Pac-10 Championships, she was fourth in the 100y breast (1:01.38, season best), 17th in the 200y breast (2:15.12) and 29th in the 50y free (23.87) ... She raced in the 50m free and the 100m breast, taking 12th, at the 2006 U.S. Spring Nationals and also swam in both the 100m and 200m breast at the 2006 U.S. Summer Nationals.
HIGH SCHOOL: McIntyre prepped at Oak Harbor (Wash.) High, where she won seven state championships, including the 100y breast four times and the 50y free three times ... A three-time Everett (Wash.) Herald Sportswoman of the Year (2003-2005), she has made five U.S. senior national appearances, including racing in the 100m breast at the 2004 Olympic Trials ... She was undefeated in 88 high school races from 2002-2004 and broke a 22-year old state record in the 100y breast in 2003 (1:02.39), which she lowered in 2004 to 1:02.02 ... She competed twice at the 2005 U.S. World Championships Trials, taking 34th in the 200m IM (2:23.93) and 47th in the 50m free (27.38).
