USC Swimming Wraps Action at World Aquatics World Cup

Trojans prevail against some of the top talent in the world.
LOS ANGELES – USC swimming turned in a successful weekend campaign at the World Aquatics World Cup in Westmont, Ill., with multiple Trojans reaching championship finals at the short course meters event. Â
Trojan junior Krzysztof Chmielewski posted USC's best finish of the weekend, touching fifth in the 200 SCM fly (1:53.15), 11th in the 400 SCM free (3:45.82) and 13th in the 100 SCM fly (51.91).Â
Junior Michal Chmielewski was eighth in the 200 SCM fly (1:56.73), 11th in the 100 SCM fly (51.46) and 23rd in the 50 SCM fly (23.53).Â
Junior Minna Abraham finished sixth in the 200 SCM free (1:53.15), ninth overall in the 400 SCM free (4:03.44) and 15th in the 100 SCM free (53.61).Â
USC newcomer Camden Doane showed off her speed at the event, finishing seventh in the 200 SCM fly, clocking a 2:11.64. Doane was also 15th in the 400 SCM IM (4:49.41) and 23rd in the 100 SCM fly (1:01.45).
Also competing at the event were a handful of Trojan alums including Kasia Wilk-Wasick, Dylan Carter, Isa Odgers, Nicola Miljenic and Ralf Tribuntsov. Wilk-Wasick won gold in the 50 SCM free (23.30), while Carter won bronze on the men's size in the same event (20.89).Â
USC resumes fall competition on Friday, Nov. 7 as the Trojans travel to Arizona for back-to-back duals in the desert. On Friday, USC will compete against Arizona at 1 p.m. in Tucson before traveling to Phoenix for a Saturday, 11 a.m. dual against the Arizona State Sun Devils.Â
