THIS SEASON: Thor Olafson enters his first season of competition at USC.
2020: Olafson opted out of competition for his first season at USC due to the coronavirus pandemic... roster... Earned ACWPC All-Academic honors and named to Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll... Also picked up MPSF All-Academic honors.
HIGH SCHOOL: Olafson is a 2020 graduate of Saint George’s School in Vancouver, Canada... Also studied and competed at the Anglo-Chinese School in Singapore, where he was a three-time Singapore Secondary-School National Champion... In swimming, he holds two British Columbia High School Provincial records in the 50 and 100 free... He also holds the St. George’s School records in those events as well as the 50 fly and 4x50 medley relay.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Olafson was a member of the Canadian team at the 2019 UANA Youth Pan American Games.
PERSONAL: Olafson is majoring in real estate development and hopes to pursue a career in investment banking... Parents are Blake and Gladys... Has two brothers, Kai and Odin... His father, Blake, is a 1995 USC alum... His grandfather played football for UBC Thunderbirds... Enjoys skiing, fishing and hiking in his free time... Lists Sidney Crosby as his biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to visit Italy... Hopes to travel to Europe and Niseko, Japan... Would like to play for the Canadian National Team or get a job in Los Angeles after graduation... Born July 4, 2002.
