High School: Margarino prepped at Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, Calif., where he was a state finalist in the 500y free, finishing third (4:24.82), while taking 15th in the 200y free (1:39.84) … He was first in the 500y free (4:23.98) and a finalist in 200y free (1:39.34) at the 2019 California CIF Southern Section Division I Championship … He was a three-time champion in 200m IM (2:11.78), 400m free (4:09.72) and 200m free (1:55.60) while representing his club team, the Burbank Blast Sharks, at the 2019 California Buen SCS June Age Group Championships … He is a five-time finalist at the Speedo Champions Series overall (2017-2019) in the 200y free and 500y free ... He was a B finalist at the 2018 Speedo Junior Nationals in the 200m free (1:52.33) and the 400m free (3:59.42).

MARGARINO'S PERSONAL RECORDS:
- Margarino turned in a junior year campaign that included an NCAA relay appearance and a conference b-finals appearance.
- Helped the Trojans to an 18th place finish in the 800y free relay at NCAA’s (6:19.91).
- At the 2021 Pac-12 Championships, he led the Trojans in the 500y free, finishing 14th in 4:23.56. He also finished 19th in the 1650y free in 15:48.18.
- Margarino led a Trojan sweep in the 500 free against Utah, taking the event in 4:26.90.
- Finished 15th in the 400 LCM Free (4:03.25) at the U.S. Olympic Team Swim Trials (Wave I)
2020:
- Raced in three events at Pac-12s, where he finished top-24 in all three events. He finished 17th in the 1650y free (15:26.00), 18th in the 500y free (4:20.97) and 19th in the 200y free (1:36.45).
- At the Art Adamson Invite Margarino was sixth in the 500y free (4:22.08), securing an NCAA B-cut. He was also seventh in the 200y free (1:37.28) and 13th in the 100y free (44.88).
