2014: Sarem will serve as a reserve walk-on fullback as a first-year freshman at USC in 2014.
HIGH SCHOOL: Sarem played fullback and defensive line at Cathedral Catholic High in San Diego (Calif.). As a 2013 senior, he made All-Eastern League first team as he had 12 carries for 85 yards (7.1 avg) with 1 TD on offense and 91 tackles, including 21 tackles for loss (with 11 sacks), with 1 fumble recovery and 1 forced fumble on defense. He received a National Football Foundation Scholar-Leader-Athlete award in 2013 and was twice named a San Diego Union Tribune Scholar Athlete (2012 and 2013). Cathedral Catholic was the 2013 CIF San Diego Section Division I champion.
As a junior in 2012, he had 72 tackles, including 18 tackles for loss (with 9 sacks), plus a fumble recovery and 2 forced fumbles. Current Trojan Matt Boermeester also prepped at Cathedral Catholic.
