In his freshman season, he made one start in nine appearances...had an 0-1 record with a 9.00 ERA and one save...in 14 innings, he allowed 15 hits and 14 earned runs with 11 walks and seven strikeouts...made his first collegiate start on March 25 against Loyola Marymount...went four innings and allowed just one run on two hits with a walk and four strikeouts to record his first collegiate save on March 7 at Winthrop...made his collegiate debut on Feb. 27 at UC Irvine, giving up a hit in two-thirds of an inning. He was a two-year letterwinner at San Clemente (Calif.) High under coach Dave Gellatly...earned All-CIF and All-South Coast League honors as a senior...earned Orange County Register second team honors after posting a 9-2 record with a 3.28 ERA and 59 strikeouts as a senior...went 7-2 with a 1.46 ERA as a junior and earned all-league as well as being named team most valuable player...in 52 2/3 innings, he allowed 42 hits and walked 26 while striking out 53 batters...competed for Team USA at the 2007 Goodwill Games in Australia...earned scholar-athlete and sportsmanship awards in his junior and senior seasons...member of the honor roll all four years.
