THIS SEASON: Graduate transfer George Gleason is competing in his first season as a distance runner for the USC track and field program. He transferred to USC from UCLA and became eligible in the spring semester.
2020 : Competed in four races during the indoor season. Capped his season with an appearance in the 3000m at the MPSF Indoor Championships, clocking a lifetime-best time of 8:09.85 for 12th place overall . Was the runner-up in the mile at the Alex Wilson Invite with a time of 4:07.98.  Posted his season-best time in the mile of 4:06.49 at the Husky Classic. In cross country in the Fall, he placed 34th in the 8K with a time of 30:37.4 at the NCAA West Regional. He took 46th with a season-best time of 24:15.1 at the Pac-12 Championships.
2019: Did not compete in track during the 2019 season. In cross country he finished 14th at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 24:36.1 and 44th at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals with a time of 24:32.9. Was named a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2018: Won the 1500m at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet with a PR of 3:43.91.Took fifth in the 5000m race at Mt. SAC Relays on April 20 with a PR of 14.01.35. Finished 10th with a time of 3:47.55 in the 1500m at the Pac-12 Championships. Named to the 2018 MPSF Indoor Track All-Academic team. Competed at the NCAA Championships (10k) and finished 164th overall with a time of 30:34.36 … Placed 43rd in the 10k at the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 30:23.3 … Finished 40th overall at the Pac-12 Championships (8k) with a time of 24:34.5.
2017: Competed in the 1,500m at the NCAA West Regional Prelims, finishing in 31st place with a time of 3:57.06 … Won the 1,500m competition against USC with a lifetime-best time of 3:45.5. Ran a personal best in the 5,000m at the Mt. SAC Relays, posting a time of 14:13.08 for 16th place. Clocked a lifetime-best time of 4:05.06 in the mile at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival, good for eight overall. Doubled at the MPSF Indoor Championships in the 3,000m (8:13.67) and 5,000m (14:14.76), finishing 23rd and 14th in the events, respectively … MPSF Indoor All-Academic selection. In the Fall raced in the NCAA West Regional Championships in the 10k and placed 59th overall with a time of 30:38.4.
2016: Competed in six meets in his first year on the track for the Bruins. He ran a 1,500m best of 3:49.09 at the Mt. SAC Relays. Clocked a 4:08.86 in the mile at the Legends Distance Carnival. He rRan a 3,000m best of 8:32.21 at the Rafer Johnson/JJK Invitational. In the Fall he competed unattached in one meet…finishing with a time of 24:50 at the Titan Invitational 8K.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2015 from Huntington Beach High School. He was a state meet qualifier in both track and cross country. As a senior he placed third in the 1600m at the CIF state meet with a time of 4:09.57. Had a 1600m high school best of 4:09.02 to take fourth in the CIF Southern Section finals. Named the Huntington Beach HS Athlete of the Year for 2015 … An all-state selection in cross country in 2014 … An All-CIF and all-state selection in 2015.
PERSONAL: Son of Patrick and Gina Gleason and he has two brothers named Henry and Will…Was a four-year letter-winner on the Huntington Beach HS surfing team…Was an English major at UCLA. . Â
