THIS YEAR: Senior three-time All-American Jordan Scott will be competing in the jumps for USC this season. He transferred to USC from Virginia with one season of eligibility remaining.
BEFORE USC: Scott won the 2019 NCAA indoor triple jump title with a jump of 55-5 (16.89m) and finished runner-up at the 2019 NCAA outdoor championships with a jump of 55-9.75 (17.01m) in his final attempt. He is the Virginia school record-holder in the triple jump at 56-0.5 (17.08m) and the long jump at 25-8.25 (7.83m) and won five ACC jumps titles (4 TJ, 1 LJ). In 2018 Scott won the Jamaican national title in the triple jump and is the country’s record-holder with his jump of 56-0.5. He was named the 2019 and 2020 USTFCCCA Southeast Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and the 2019 Southeast Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. Scott was named the 2020 ACC Field Athlete of the Year and to the ACC Academic Honor Roll. He is one of five ACC athletes in history to have won three or more conference triple jump titles. His best indoor triple jump of 55-10.25 (17.02m) is the 17th-best jump by an athlete in NCAA indoor history. In 2018, he finished 10th in the triple jump with a leap of 52-4.50 (15.96m) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and 12th with a jump of 51-11.75 (15.84m) at the NCAA Indoor Championships. As a freshman in 2017, he finished 18th in the TJ at the NCAA Outdoor (50-10.25/15.50mw) and 10th at the NCAA Indoor Championships (51-5.75/15.69m). He set the Virginia freshman records for the TJ and LJ.
HIGH SCHOOL: Scott graduated in 2016 from Campion College in Kingston, Jamaica. He was a finalist in the triple jump at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships and the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. He was a two-time Class 1 finalist in the triple jump.
PERSONAL: Jordan was born on June 29, 1997 in Kingston, Jamaica…His parents are Lorna Reynolds-Minott and Michael Scott and he has four siblings…In his spare time he likes to play soccer, listen to music and play games…He says his favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption and his favorite musical artist is Vybz Kartel…Lists his sports hero as Usain Bolt, as he exemplifies hard work and dedication and is living proof that sticking to your craft will pay off…He loves all Jamaican food…After USC says he would like to win an Olympic medal…He is in graduate school and is majoring in Social Entrepreneurship.
