No. 19 USC Selected for NCAA Tournament, Set to Face Duke in First Round

Trojans to travel to Norman, Oklahoma for first weekend of NCAA Tournament play.
LOS ANGELES - The No. 19 USC men's tennis team has earned a berth into the 2026 NCAA Championship Tournament, marking the program's 46th all-time appearance in the national tournament.
The Trojans (18-7, 10-3 Big Ten) will open NCAA play against Duke on Friday, May 1 at 11 a.m. PT (1 p.m. CT) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, hosted by No. 9 seed Oklahoma. The second round is set for Saturday, May 2 at 3 p.m. PT (5 p.m. CT), with the winner advancing to face either Duke or host Oklahoma.
USC enters the NCAA field following a strong regular season that saw the Trojans finish tied for second in the Big Ten with a 10-3 conference record.Â
Historically, USC has been one of the most successful programs in collegiate tennis, carrying a 116-40 all-time record in NCAA Tournament play and a nation-leading 21 NCAA Team Championship titles.Â
The Trojans are led by a trio of nationally ranked singles players in Nate Trouve (No. 67), Max Exsted (No. 70) and Branko Djuric (No. 84), who have anchored USC's lineup throughout the season.
Duke (15-13, 6-7 ACC) enters the tournament after a quarterfinal exit in the ACC Championship, falling 4-0 to Wake Forest.
Host site Oklahoma, the tournament's No. 9 overall seed, brings an 18-16 overall record and finished 10-4 in SEC play. The Sooners saw an eight-match win streak snapped in a 4-3 loss to Texas A&M in the SEC quarterfinals.
Utah State (19-5, 7-0 Mountain West) rounds out the regional field, entering the tournament as Mountain West regular-season and tournament champions. The Aggies ride a 12-match win streak into postseason play after securing their first conference tournament title since 2018.
