Trojans erase early doubles deficit behind dominant singles performances.
EUGENE, Ore. — The No. 20 USC men's tennis team capped its regular season in winning fashion on Sunday, defeating Oregon 4-1 on the road in Eugene.
The Trojans (18-6 overall, 10-3 Big Ten) bounced back after dropping the doubles point, using a dominant showing in singles to secure the victory and close out the regular season with momentum.
Oregon struck first by claiming two of three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. USC's lone doubles win came from the pairing of Branko Djuric and Max Exsted, who earned a victory over Pierre Mouesca and Lachlan Robertson, but it wasn't enough to swing the point.
USC quickly flipped the match in singles play. Connor Church got the Trojans on the board with a straight-set win over Declan Galligan, and Jack McCarthy followed with another strong performance, defeating Lachlan Robertson in straight sets to give USC a 2-1 lead.
Andrin Casanova extended the advantage with a win over Sam Olszakowski, putting the Trojans one point away from clinching, and Branko Djuric delivered the final blow on court one with a straight-set victory over Vlad Breazu to secure the 4-1 win. The clinch marked Djuric's second of the weekend.Â
With the win, USC wraps up the regular season at 18-6 overall and carries strong momentum into postseason play after winning three straight matches to close the campaign.Â
Up next the Trojans travel to Ojai, Calif. for the 2026 Big Ten Championship Tournament. USC earned the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed UCLA on Thursday at noon PT in the Big Ten quarterfinals at Libbey Park.Â
