The Trojans grabbed an early lead, but gave up 12 runs in the fourth through sixth innings, falling to 30-11 overall on the season and 13-8 in Big Ten play. Nebraska moves to 31-9, 15-3.
After scoring one in the first, the Trojans put up four in the second, getting back-to-back home runs from Kevin Takeuchi and Augie Lopez. Lopez would go deep twice on the day, pushing his season total to a team-leading 13 long balls.
USC took a 5-3 lead into the fourth, but the Cornhuskers put up four runs in the inning to take back the advantage. After two runs in the fifth and six in the sixth, the Huskers had a commanding lead for the rest of the day.
COMING UP
USC will travel to Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday before hosting Purdue next weekend. Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and all three games against Purdue will be on B1G+.
