Every player in the Trojan lineup had a hit and seven USC pitchers combined to hold the Titans in check as the Trojans move to 31-11 on the year. Cal State Fullerton falls to 19-20 with the loss.
The Trojans made a strong opening statement, putting up four runs in the top of the first thanks to four hits and one Fullerton error. Abbrie Covarrubias had a two-run single in the frame.
A three-run fourth inning pushed the visiting Trojans' lead to 7-1. Kevin Takeuchi had the big hit in that frame with a two-run double.
Diego Velazquez had a strong 2.0 innings on the mound to start things off for USC, allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out four batters.
The Titans scored in both the third and fourth after Velazquez exited, but were held to single runs in each inning as that was all the offense the home team could muster.
Chase Herrell also had 2.0 scoreless innings on the mound and Sax Matson, Adam Troy and Grant Govel tossed scoreless innings to finish it off.
USC held the Titans to just six hits in the game and did not commit an error. Trojan pitchers issued just two walks in the game.
