THE RUNDOWN
Opening the year with a regatta against UCLA for the fourth consecutive season, the Trojans are looking to take a step forward this season under second-year head coach Kelsie Chaudoin.
USC has won every dual against UCLA since 2021. In this rivalry race last season, the Trojans claimed a 20-3 victory with wins by the 1V8, 2V8, 3V8 and the 1V4. Overall, the Trojans have a 23-1 record against the Bruins.
The winner of the regatta will earn 10 points for its school in the 2026 Crosstown Cup. So far, USC leads 45-25 in counted results in this year's series, however, four rivalry contests make this week a watershed moment for the cup race.
Possession of the Amy Fuller Kearney-Lori Guerrero Azbill Trophy is also on the line this Friday. USC claimed the trophy in last year's dual for the fourth consecutive season; the Trojans have yet to relinquish the trophy ever since its inception in 2022. This trophy honors longtime former UCLA coach Amy Fuller Kearny and former USC assistant coach Lori Guerrero Azbill. The presentation of the Amy Fuller Kearney-Lori Guerrero Azbill Trophy for the UCLA-USC competition will occur immediately after the meet.
Earlier this spring, the Trojans welcomed UC San Diego to the Port of Los Angeles for a scrimmage on Feb. 21. No results were kept.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will compete in the San Diego Crew Classic, held at Crown Point Park from March 28-29. All pertinent updates can be found on the women's rowing team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
