USC Baseball Head Coach Andy Stankiewicz Receives Contract Extension Through 2030
August 08, 2025 | Baseball
LOS ANGELES – After leading the USC Baseball program to its best three-year run in more than 20 years, Head Coach Andy Stankiewicz has agreed to a contract extension through the 2030 season, Charles Griffin Cale Director of Athletics Jen Cohen announced today (Aug. 8).
Stankiewicz took over a faltering USC program in 2023 after spending the previous 11 seasons at Grand Canyon University, and since then he has led the Trojans to their first run of three-straight 30-win seasons and three-straight Top 4 conference finishes since 2000-02. USC also made its first postseason appearance since 2015 this past season, making it to the Corvallis Regional Final.
Since taking over as the Trojan skipper, Stankiewicz has led USC to a 102-74-1 record, becoming the only coach other than Hall-of-Fame Manager Mike Gillespie to win more than 100 games in his first three seasons at the University. USC's 52 conference wins over the last three seasons are tied for the seventh most of any Power Four school in the country over that period.
Stankiewicz and the Trojans went 37-23 overall last year, finishing fourth in the Big Ten with an 18-12 record. After winning 10-of-13 three-game series on the year, including a run of eight-straight series wins (the longest such streak for USC since 1978), the Trojans earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade.
In his 14 seasons as a head coach, Stankiewicz owns a career record of 443-313-3. He has also been a fixture with USA Baseball during his career, most recently managing the Collegiate National Team this summer.
The Trojans own the greatest winning tradition in the history of college baseball, having won a total of 12 National Championships (four more than the next closest program), made the College World Series 21 times and sent more players to the big leagues than any other school, with a total of 120 major leaguers.
