June 01, 2025 | Baseball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The USC baseball team fell 14-1 to No. 8 Oregon State on Sunday night, forcing a decisive Regional final on Monday.
Monday's game will be at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPNU, with the winner securing a spot in the Super Regional round.
The Beavers jumped in front early, putting up four runs in the second inning and then following with two in the third to grab a 6-1 advantage. The Trojans' run came in the second on a two-out single from Maximo Martinez that followed a two-out triple by Jack Basseer.
USC nearly had the first run of the game, but Brayden Dowd was thrown out at the plate in the first inning. The Trojans later loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the fifth, but could not push across a run.
A three-run homer in the sixth broke the game open for the Beavers, who would add two more in the seventh and eighth innings.
